Personal Training Course - Certificate IV
Want to be a Personal Trainer?
Certificate IV in Fitness is the industry standard to become a Personal Trainer in Queensland, and in all states of Australia. This means that if you want to work as a Personal Trainer or conduct group activity classes in an independent fashion or in a variety of locations, you must at least have this requirement. The depth of knowledge required for Certificate IV obviously then reflects the added responsibility of obtaining and using this certificate. At the completion of this course, a successful candidate will not only be able to work independently in their chosen field, but also be able to competently prescribe exercise. Once you have completed your Certificate III, the Certificate IV course will teach you how to: conduct and evaluate long term periodised fitness plans; develop your sales and marketing skills; evaluate and analyse the performance of individual clients or groups in a variety of fitness settings; apply teaching methods and instructional styles both indoors and outdoors. be competent in strength and conditioning programs What jobs can I get? You can work as a Personal Trainer in a fitness centre; start your own personal training business or work as a conditioning coach for a sporting team. Our course is delivered in partnership with Competency Based Learning - a registered training organisation. Recognition of Previous Learning (RPL) / Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) You can apply for exemptions from units in our courses where you can demonstrate that you have the skills or knowledge already. These skills or knowledge may have been obtained from prior study (especially in similar courses) or even from life experience. This type of recognition is also known as Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC). The Recognition of Prior Learning process is a way of recognising these skills and previous education. Obviously the prior learning must be relevant to this field of study.
