Hi Guys. It is a little over 6 months since my first session with you all at Fitnance and I thought I would just send through a short note to say thanks for all your help in that time. When I started I was 132.5 kgs in weight and would be short of breath tying up my shoe laces. After having a previous boss of mine suggest that I shouldn't allow myself to be defined by my weight I thought I would bite the bullet and do something about it. I hadn't worked out in a gym in my entire 47 years and I was a bit apprehensive about what it would be like, but you all made me welcome and the rest of the crew that trains at Fitnance were a good bunch as well. Even though my lifestyle of corporate lunches and travel make the job of losing weight and increasing fitness very challenging your variety of tailored programs have seen me drop close on 20 kilos, over 15 cm in my waist and I can now go for a 5 km jog without passing out. Once again thanks for all your help and I look forward to sending another note when I have dropped the next 20 kilos.

12 Week Challenge
A new 12 week challenge will begin on Monday 7th June and finish with the Bridge to Brisbane run on the 30th August. Make sure you see Steve or Tanya to sign up.
Ipswich Jets
The Jets have had an ordinary month.
We lost to Mackay 6-20, Sunshine Coast Eagles 24-28, Tweed 38-18, Souths 14-26 & Central 15-14.
Mistakes, and poor choices have let the mighty Jets down.
We are in the Maintenance phase of the Strength and Conditioning Program. This week is an easier week of training because of our trip to Rockhampton.

QRL Referees
The ref's have their mid-year testing in the coming weeks. Joseph will be travelling to the regional centres of Cairns, Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton to test all the squad members.
Congratulations to Michael Wise, who has been training with the NRL squad, and has been appointed his first NRL Appointment as a Side line Official.
It is great to see our squad members getting an opportunity to step up into the NRL.
QUT Practicum Students
Matteo has now completed his 300 hours prac with Fitnance. We would like to thanks him for all his hard efforts and wish him well in his future studies as he aims to continue to do a Masters in Physiotherapy. Hopefully his footy tipping skills will be reduced now he has left us, as he currently leads the office competition.
Steve Nance
Steve is heading back to Brisbane in early June and will be based in SE QLD after his role with Leeds Rugby in the UK. I'm sure Steve will be a regular back in the gym and hopefully will take some sessions and pass on his knowledge and experience.
Gold Coast Half Marathon.
The Fitnance team for the 2010 Gold Coast Airport Marathon is now setup in the system and ready to go!

Brisbane to Gold Coast Ride.
For the 2010 ride we want to get as many of the Fitnance crew to participate to sign up. After the ride we shall be organising for riders a "lunch in lycra" . If you are keen let us know asap so we can arrange everything.
